Over 15 Years of Blogging

Over 15 Years of Blogging

Hi friend!

At the end of June 2019, I completed my blogging contract with Discover Siskiyou. Working on the project was fun and full of learning opportunities, and it felt good to end the project. I'm proud of my work, and I'm excited to start something new!

Currently, I'm creating a new online photography course. It's called THE DAILY PHOTO: Start a Photography Project & Build a Creative Habit. My aim is to launch the course at the end of July. Since my energy is going toward course creation, I’ve been sharing less on RowdyKittens.com. And to be honest, I’m experiencing blogging fatigue.

I’ve been blogging for over 15 years, so I’m not surprised that I’m feeling fatigued. I don’t get paid to share essays or photos on my personal blog, and blogging takes a lot of time and energy. This summer, I want to use my energy for work projects (like course creation and freelance writing), CrossFit, travel, and other projects that don’t involve the Internet.

I’ll still be sending out my monthly letter though!

Other June highlights

+ I'm still working on my color themed photography project. Follow along on Instagram.

+ I booked a flight to Portugal! My friend Shanna moved to Portugal recently, and I can't wait to spend a few weeks with her in September.

+ I bought a new bike! I rode my previous bike, a Surly Long Haul Trucker, for over 10 years. In mid-June, The Husband disassembled the Surly. We can't sell the Surly because of a large dent in the top tube. The dent story is long and involved, so I'll save it for another time. In short, the Surly parts will be reused or recycled. My new bike is a Dutch style beauty from Peace Bicycles and it rides like a dream! I won’t need to buy another bike for a decade (or more).

With that, here's a list of things I thought were worth sharing this month. Enjoy!
