Weekly Links: The New Paris

{This week: The New Paris Podcast, reading, writing, and more.}

Hi all,

Here’s a list of my favorite links, listens, and good reads from the past week:

1. To celebrate the end of my photography project, the PDF version of my book—My Morning View: An iPhone Photography Project about Gratitude, Grief & Good Coffee—is on sale for $1.00! Grab your copy here. The sale ends on June 11, 2018.

2. Last week, I was looking for podcasts about Paris and found this gem—The New Paris Podcast. I’m obsessed with the podcast, and I’ve already listened to multiple episodes. I started with Episode 11—it’s about the state of coffee in Paris.

3. The New Paris Podcast led me to Lindsey Tramuta’s book The New Paris, which is fantastic! Last weekend, I commandeered The Husband's Kindle, bought the book, and I'm already halfway through it. Based on Tramuta’s recommendations I have a giant list of coffee and sweet shops that I’d like to visit while I’m in Paris.

4. And speaking of reading, here’s a good question: How do we bring reading back?

5. Writing for people who don’t read.

6. Love this—How I Put a Newsletter Together. I use a similar process for my weekly link roundup and Tiny Letter.

7. Yes to less overthinking! Loved Meghan’s latest: What I’ve Been Up To.

8. Funny and helpful: "The Last Conversation You’ll Ever Need to Have About Eating Right."

9. A vital conversation: How to talk to someone who is grieving the loss of a loved one.

10. Last Friday, I spotted a flyer for a screening of Being Mortal—a PBS Documentary. I read Dr. Atul Gawande's book—Being Mortal—a few years ago, and it profoundly impacted my worldview. I'd love to see the film. Here's an excellent summary of the documentary. If you live in Siskiyou County, the screening will be held at the Church of the Nazarene on June 15, 2018 at 5.30pm in Yreka. Contact Madrone Hospice for additional details.

Thanks for reading!
