Remaking the Internet

Remaking the Internet

{This week: Remaking the Internet, attention, bad habits, and more.}

Hi all,

Yesterday, I spent all morning preparing a post about our fantastic dining experience at Denny Bar Co. I wanted to share the post yesterday, but it wasn’t ready. Sometimes writing a simple post takes forever, and it’s part of the writing process. On the surface, blogging looks easy. But like all good things, blogging takes time and energy. I’ll share the post with you next week!

With that, here’s a short list of my favorite reads and listens from the past week:

1. What went wrong with the Internet—A thought-provoking interview about the Internet, social media, and Silicon Valley. I’m looking forward to reading Jaron Lanier’s latest book—Ten Arguments for Deleting Your Social Media Accounts Right Now.

2. How we need to remake the Internet—The interview above led me to Jaron Lanier’s TED Talk.

3. See Life Like I Do—I enjoyed this post! Here’s my favorite quote: “View time as your most precious resource. Because it is. Spend it wisely.”

4. Attention Is Life with Jonathan Fields & Jocelyn K. Glei—There are many intriguing ideas in this conversation; especially relating to success and how paying attention can lead to unexpected opportunities.

5. Sarah von Bargen is here to help you correct your bad self-help habits—Loved this conversation!

6. Souvenir by Rolf Potts and I’m Supposed to Protect You from All This by Nadja Spiegelman—both books are on my nightstand, and so far they are fantastic reads!

Thanks for reading!
