Hi all,

Thank you for subscribing to my weekly Tiny Letter! I appreciate your support and encouraging emails.

With that, this is my last newsletter until January.

Here's why:

Instead of spending 4 to 8 hours a week making my Tiny Letter, I'll be using my time to volunteer with the American Red Cross. The Red Cross is in Butte County to support victims of the Camp Fire, and I'm going to contribute to the operation. The Camp Fire is contained, but victims need assistance, and I'm looking forward to helping. My first volunteer shift was on Giving Tuesday (that wasn't planned, but it seemed apt).

During December, I’ll also be blogging for Discover Siskiyou, spending time with loved ones, CrossFitting, and thinking about how I want to structure my Tiny Letter in 2019.

For the rest of 2018, here’s where you can find my writing and photography:

+ Everyday Adventures in Siskiyou: Bookmark my travel blog, subscribe to Discover Siskiyou’s newsletter, or follow us on Instagram for the latest news and updates. I'll also be linking to my Siskiyou themed adventure essays on RowdyKittens.

+ RowdyKittens.com: On November 6, 2018, I started a new personal project. Since then, I’ve been taking a daily photo—and as long as the shot is well composed—I’ve been sharing the image on RowdyKittens and Instagram. The project reminds me to notice the beauty in front of me, and it’s a great way to practice my photography skills.

Good Reads & Resources:

+ What Most Remote Companies Don’t Tell You About Remote Work: an excellent essay about isolation, anxiety, and depression in the remote workplace.

+ California Firefighters Recount Historic Blaze: ‘There Wasn’t Anything That Wasn’t on Fire’: a moving piece about firefighters and their personal experiences during the Camp Fire.

+ Aerial maps of the Camp Fire: these maps are stunning, and will give you a sense of the devastation caused by the Camp Fire. Roughly 20% of the housing stock in Butte County is gone.

+ Please stop telling me to leave my comfort zone.

+ How To Stop Wasting Time On The Internet.

One Podcast

+ Laurie Santos on the science & practice of happiness.

One Documentary

+ Running for Good

I'll be back in your inbox in 2019. If you want to say hi, say hello on Instagram. Enjoy the rest of 2018!

With gratitude,
