A Photo Essay: Make Time for FUN

When he worked, he really worked. But when he played, he really PLAYED.― Dr. Seuss

Last week, I talked with my friend Syndee on the phone. We've been scheduling weekly phone dates to catch up on life, B-School, and everything in-between. I love our weekly chats because they keep me centered and grounded.

Most of the time, working for myself is awesome. However, sometimes I get lonely and that’s why it’s essential to make time for friends and FUN! Plus, I have a tendency to be too serious, and my weekly calls with Syndee remind me to focus on my core desired feelings. I want to feel grateful for the people and places in my everyday life. And, I want to incorporate more FUN and adventure into my routine.

After my phone call with Syndee, I opened my journal and made a list of the activities I want to do for fun. The list included:

  • reading
  • journaling
  • listening to music
  • playing with my cats
  • walking, running, and swimming
  • going on weekly mini-adventures
  • taking lots of photos

The last item on my list is essential. No matter where I am in the world, I always have my camera with me. Photography helps me see and experience the world, instead of obsessing over work projects or what I “should” be doing. Taking photos is one way I experience everyday magic. It’s a form of play, and it’s fun.

Enjoy today’s photo round-up. I hope these images inspire you to go outside and have fun.
