A Photo Essay: Succulent Magic

Last week, I woke up early, drove through the fog enveloping Forest Mountain, and descended into Scott Valley. My destination was Mountain Crest Gardens in Fort Jones, CA. I arrived highly caffeinated and ready to explore the wonderful world of succulents. Mountain Crest Gardens specializes in “providing a large selection of both single order succulents as well as low priced wholesale trays that do not require wholesale accounts to purchase.” Plus, they are open to the public. There were over 400 varieties of succulents at Mountain Crest Gardens. I wandered around the nursery for over two hours with my month agape, trying to decide which plants I wanted to take home.

In addition, I took over 100 photos! Diffuse lighting filled the greenhouse and the broad range of colors made the experience perfect for photography. It was an inspiring mini-adventure; I can’t wait to go back!

Enjoy the photos!
