Everyday Magic: Thank You & A Moving Update

{Every week, I run a photography series called “Everyday Magic.” Enjoy!}

First, I want to say thank you; thank you for the sweet emails and comments on my recent post. I’m grateful for your advice and words of wisdom. I still feel a little crazy, but I think that’s normal. :)

Everyone struggles and I believe it’s important to share our struggles through writing, conversations, and art. By sharing, I feel less alone and more connected to my friends, family, and all of you!

Second, our weekend in Red Bluff and Chico was lovely. We celebrated my brother in-law’s birthday and visited friends and family. We also had the opportunity to look at potential spaces to park our tiny house, in Chico. The move to Chico is going to happen in late spring or early summer and I’m so excited!

In the interim, we’ve decided to move from the ranch to Red Bluff in early May. We’re going to park the house at my mom’s place and help her with household projects. She lives in a 2,300 square foot house and has about an acre of land. Since she’s alone, she needs help decluttering the shed, garage, staining the deck, putting in a fence, prepping the garden, and more. I’m super excited about staying in Red Bluff for two or three weeks and helping my mom. She’s helped us so much over the years and I’m grateful that I have the flexibility to help her.

In addition, parking the house in Red Bluff will be a great transition point. It’s only a 45 minute car or bus ride to Chico and it will be easier for Logan to interview for potential jobs. In the meantime, we are going to enjoy our last month in Siskiyou County. I’m so grateful that we had the opportunity to live on the ranch. And I’m sure we will be back!
