In September 2012, Logan and I moved away from Portland, Oregon. Leaving the city and our community of friends wasn’t an easy choice. I don’t regret moving away because I’ve reconnected with family and have experienced the good (and bad) aspects of tiny house living. However, I miss Portland and our community of friends. We’ve tried to foster our friendships by writing letters, talking on the phone, and visiting often.
Last weekend, we spent time in Portland hanging out with friends (and their cute dogs), hiking in the forest, drinking creamy coffee, and eating delcious food. The experience was amazing, humbling, and it was good for my soul. Our Portland friends are generous, kind, and caring. Logan and I drove back to California feeling loved and supported.
