{This week: Minimalism on Netflix, deep work, college students and learning, performance reviews, and more.}

Hi all,

Below are 10 happy links that inspired me this week. I hope you enjoy them, too!

1. The Minimalist’s film—Minimalism—is out on Netflix. Earlier this year, Joshua sent me a screener to watch, and I enjoyed the film. Also, I’m honored that they included part of my story in the documentary. I hope you’ll watch the film and share it with a friend!

2. And speaking of minimalism, Cal Newport wrote a timely essay about digital minimalism.

3. And their eyes glazed over is a fascinating piece about college students and learning in the age of texts and tech.

4. So good: On writing the 2017 performance review now.

5. Russ Roca shared helpful photography tips in a recent video.

6. I’m on board with this—Keep it moving.

7. Powerful essays: How I gave up drinking in the music industry (and survived) and What it means to be a part of everything: Reinventing my life, without alcohol.

8. I’m obsessed with the television series Planet Earth.

9. An interesting look into what it takes to open a bookstore.

10. I need this sign in my front yard.

11. Last week, I read Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert for a second time because I’m doing research for a writing project. I’ll share details about the project soon.

12. My mother-in-law gifted me a copy of The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd. On Monday, I stayed up way past my bedtime reading Kidd’s words. The storyline is intriguing!

13. If you’re looking for a good book to read during the holidays, peruse my list of good reads.

Thanks for reading! If you enjoy my weekly happy links roundup and want to support it, share this post with a friend.

With gratitude,
Tammy
