Happy Links: From Presentation Zen to Romance

Photography by Tammy Strobel

{Every week, I share a roundup of 10 happy links that I think are worth reading, listening to, or scrolling through. I hope you like them, too!}

1. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been preparing for my talk at York College. I’m nervous and excited about the event. To prepare, I’ve been reading Garr Reynolds’s work because his tips are so helpful. Check out his essays on presentation preparation, design, and delivery.

2. So good: Doing a Ted Talk: The Full Story.

3. Recently, Logan and I had a delicious meal at Larks in Ashland, Oregon. We celebrated 15 years of fun and love and brainstormed my York College talk over dinner. It was a lovely evening. To learn more about Larks, watch this video.

4. I gave my tiny desk to a local thrift store and purchased The Ready Desk. When my new office is set-up, I’ll share a photo essay on the blog.

5. Yes to this: How to repost with respect.

6. I’m loving the Longform Podcast because it features non-fiction writers and how they tell stories.

7. “Books were my anti-depressant.” (Thanks for sharing James Altucher’s essay, Susannah and Jenny).

8. Want to be an outstanding leader? Keep a journal.

9. Memoirs I’m loving: The Latte Years and Wellth: How I Learned to Build a Life, Not a Résumé.

10. If you’re looking for a good read, check out Romancing the Null. I loved the storyline because it was creative, full of adventure, and I felt like I was hanging out in a magical world. I can’t wait to read Book Two. My super talented sister-in-law, Tina, has me hooked on her new series!

If you enjoyed this post, please share it with a friend. Thanks.

With gratitude,
Tammy
