Happy Links: From Breath to Books

Photography by Tammy Strobel

{Every week, I share a roundup of 10 happy links that I think are worth reading, listening to, or scrolling through. I hope you like them, too!}

1. After reading Lucy Kalanithi’s essay—My Marriage Didn’t End When I Became a Widow—and Janet Maslin’s book review, I bought When Breath Becomes Air. I’m looking forward to reading the book.

2. I’m nosy, and I loved this glimpse into Tim Ferriss’s journal: What My Morning Journal Looks Like.

3. Brian Froud’s art is magical.

4. Heck yeah!: Dogs and cats can love.

5. What’s your word?

6. Based on painful personal experiences, I’ve found this to be true: Forget The Gizmos: Exercise Works Best For Lower-Back Pain.

7. Growing a minimalist wardrobe: intimates.

8. David Bowie’s notebooks are neat!

9. Sometimes you need to sing loudly in the car. I liked this video.

10. A helpful post that defines hobbies, careers, jobs, and vocations: What are you doing with your life?

11. I’m a fan of Marie Kondo’s work. The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up inspired me to tidy up our tiny house and apartment. In addition, I enjoyed Kondo’s latest book, Spark Joy. It’s full of tips and tools that helped me reorganize my closet, let go of paper and books, and rethink my ideal home.

With gratitude,
Tammy
