We Moved (Again) + Happy Links

Kitty in bed

{Every week, I share a round-up of happy links because these resources have inspired me to make positive changes in my life. I hope they motivate and inspire you, too! Enjoy.}

When we aren’t home, the cats go in and out of our house through the bathroom window. Normally, Elaina will sit in the window and supervise the neighborhood activities. As I drove up to the house last week, I spotted something odd in the window. It was a yellow tomcat!

Recently, the cats have had a few accidents in the house, and they got into a huge fight a few months ago, which resulted in a vet trip. It made me wonder if the tomcat has been hanging out in our house, beating up on my cats, and peeing. Thankfully, he didn’t spray in the house.

Logan remarked, “You know it’s time to move when the local wildlife start coming into your home.”

With that segue—we moved into a 400-square-foot apartment in town. Also, I don’t think we’ll return to full-time tiny house living. We’ll still live small and simply; it just won’t be in the tiny house. I’ll write an essay about the why behind this decision soon, so stay tuned.

Now onto this week’s happy links …

Mark and Laura, from Enjoy Life Slowly, interviewed me last week. You can find the interview on their website. Scroll down to the happiness section to find the link.

Why I Almost Didn’t Tell You About the Book I’m Writing” is a beautiful post by Courtney Carver.

Dalty Jones started a cool photography series on his Instagram feed. Read about it over here.

Loved this: “What Living in a Hotel Has Taught Me.”

My friend Katie told me about the Amtrak Residency program. I’d love to be part of it!

Simon’s Cat is funny!

    I am a 5th grade teacher and we watch Simon’s Cat every Friday. They love it! I sometimes use it for writing strategies too.

    Sorry to hear about the end of your tiny house living, but looking forward to more lovely pics and stories about small living.

    The local wildlife quote made me burst into laughter. I know those feelings. <3

    We have such a fighting (and yowling!) cat in the neighborhhod, too. He’s constantly fighting with mine. I never would have thought that I would chase a tomcat through the garden with a loud cry. I love cats just not this one. My sister gave me a water-pistol as a present. . .Yey 😉
    Thank you for sharing. I love Simon’s cat. Didn’t know about him.

    I hope you’ll be happy in town! Needs change over time, and it’s great that you can be flexible with your housing.
