Happy Links: From Our New Abode to Writing Tips

Photography by Tammy Strobel; reclaimed desk

{Every week, I share a roundup of happy links because these resources have inspired me to make positive changes in my life. I hope they motivate and inspire you, too! Enjoy.}

Thanks for the positive comments and emails about our recent move! I appreciate each blog comment, email, tweet, and Facebook message that comes my way. Thank you for being awesome and supportive!

We’re settling into our new abode, and we feel happy and content. The cats are doing great, too. They always adjust quickly to new spaces, which continues to surprise me. Our cats are resilient companions.

I’ve gotten a lot of requests for a photo tour of our new apartment. I will share photos of our new abode sometime in November (maybe sooner). Please be patient. In the meantime, I’ll be sharing photos of our tiny apartment on Instagram and other social media sites. You can follow my adventures on Instagram over here.

Now onto this week’s happy links …

Our closet smells like mothballs, so I purchased a few lavender sachets after I read this article: One of Our Closets Has a Mothball Smell. Should We Try to Fix It?

I use the Envira Gallery plugin to create photo galleries on RowdyKittens.com. A few weeks ago, the lovely folks at Envira released new features that enhance the plugin. For example, now I can integrate my Instagram gallery into my photography page. Check it out.

Check Austin Mann’s review of the iPhone 6s.

So powerful: A dirty secret called grief.

Amanda redesigned her website! It’s inspiring and playful. It makes me want to redesign my website.

Death, Sex & Money is one of my favorite podcasts because it covers deep and meaningful stories. Their recent episode—An Astronaut’s Husband, Left Behind—was powerful and it made me cry.

I’m a fan of Tyler’s writing and website, Riskology. I really enjoyed his recent post about writing. I use a similar system for short and long writing projects, and it’s improved my work.

With gratitude,

P. S. During 2016, I am partnering with my favorite writers and simple living advocates! We are offering a year long e-course called A Simple Year: 12 Months of Guided Simplicity.

a simple year

Topics covered include clutter, work, money, relationships, cooking, fitness, and more. I hope you’ll join us for the course.

I always enjoy your blog posts. I look forward to seeing your blog posts with photos of your new apartment. What I’ve seen so far of the living room looks wonderful. Love hard wood floors and those IKEA chairs. The kitties are always fun to see.

Hi Tammy…would your readers be interested in a giveaway of a very slightly used Midori Travelers journal? Didn’t work for me but I can’t bear to just stick it in the donate pile. Comes with a few starter inserts….I’m happy to ship to whomever wants it! It’s the larger size, brown.

Hey Carol, that’s so kind. I’m not interested in hosting a giveaway at this time. But if anyone in this comment thread says they want it, feel free to connect with them. 😉

@Carol – I would be very interested in trying out the travelers journal if you still have it!!! 🙂

@Chandra, I do still have it! Want to give me a way to contact you offline?

I have an iPhone 6, with no plans to get the 6s yet. Maybe in a couple of years. But the iPhone 6 takes such wonderful photos! I didn’t want to become an Apple nerd, but I did, because the quality of your photos were the thing that sealed the deal. I won’t be buying a Plus ever because I am very small with equally small hands and the Plus phones are just too big to hold.
