But the beautiful memories and happy pictures of that day stay forever.

Today I’m grateful for waking up to red roses by my bed that I found last night on top of the florist garbage can and “rescued”, the fact that it’s warm (enough) to have the window open a bit for our two cats, the text from my DH checking on me, and one of my new business acquaintances wanting to drop by some gluten-free energy cookies that she baked with me in mind. Oh, did I mention it’s also Friday? Life is so good.

Such an exciting time for you! Thank you for your generosity of this wonderful giveaway! I am grateful for the chance to spend an upcoming week in Florida visiting my mom with my (adult) kids (and grandson!). We live across the country from one another (Seattle, St. Louis & Sarasota!) so we only get to ALL be together about every 2 years or so. My kids and I have not been to Florida together since they were young teens (they are 25 & 29 now!), and my mom has not seen my son for almost 2 years, so I am really excited and oh-so-grateful for this time together!

  • Amanda Adams March 21, 2014, 9:44 am

    Hello there Tammy,
Your blog, and life, is such an inspiration and a shining example of how wonderful our lives can be even through trying times. Your photos are beautiful and I wish I could afford to buy a copy of your book. My husband and I are so broke right now we can barely afford groceries. It is up to me to start monetizing my website and as soon as this snow lets up to start getting more modelling and photography gigs, so that we can save to build our very own tiny house and have a little bit more financial and literal freedom. Thank you for being you, for sharing your wisdom, and for your beautiful photos.

I am grateful for all of the experiences that life has given me. I haven’t been on Earth in this body for very long, but I have continued to grow and learn from each passing day, each love and loss, every triumph and heartbreak, and most of all from the wisdom of other people. I am grateful for life and everyone in it. <3

Thank you again for sharing your experiences and talents. Your blog and books are very encouraging and help me keep a positive energy and motivation for pursuing my own dreams and keeping life simple.

I am grateful for life itself and all of the small things I find in each day to enjoy. When we take the time to stop and enjoy the small things they really help us cope with the difficult things. Too many times we exist waiting for the next big moment or event, but the real joy is in the little things each day. I am grateful my life experiences have taught me this. I am also grateful for friends and family who remind me of it, and blogs like yours that do the same.

Your article in Flow magazine was so inspiriational. I’ve never been a real materialistic person, but you’ve inspired me to take another look at what I have and own and especially what I don’t need.
I am grateful for the fact that I’ve learned from my mistakes which helped me grow even more into the person I am today and who I will be in the future. My girlfriends do share a big part in that. It’s amazing how friends can turn into the family you’ve always wanted.

I’m grateful for Miraculous Medals and the faith that empowers them. I rescued a sick dog from South Carolina and got some very bleak news from my vet. I decided to attach a Miraculous Medal to her halter, say a prayer and let it rest for the weekend. On Monday, an ultrasound was done and they could find nothing wrong!! She is now a vibrant little beagle romping around my house with her poosie cat brothers.

  • Anita Verdegaal March 22, 2014, 10:05 am

    Hello there,

I bought the magazine ‘Flow’, and read your article. Inspiring!!!

To answer your question; I am basically grateful for life. Life gives me everything I need, and more. It’s time we learn to appreciate everything life gives us, and not take it for granted. Life can be difficult, hard, emotional, but above all it inspires us to conquer the ‘bad’ things, make ’em into good things. Because sometimes you think you’re at the bottom of a well, and then there’s a tiny tunnel ahead…

    Hugs,
    Anita

  • Angela Mrozinski March 22, 2014, 10:51 am

I am grateful that my stepdad’s ongoing illness has brought us closer rather than farther apart–even if we still live in different states. While I was in college, I would call home to talk to just my mom and he would hand the phone over to her– which made me think he never wanted to talk to me. Now my mom has to steal the phone from him sometimes to get a chance to chat with me :).

    Hi Tammy!
I am grateful for your sharing and writings as they give me hope that all will be well for me too. Nearly two years ago I lost my home, then my job. I had placed my belongings except for some clothes and a box of personal belongings into storage. I ran late on payments, but the managers worked with me only one day their auditor showed up and since I was behind she held an auction and I lost everything I had owned in my life. One week later, my husband took his own life. It takes a lot of courage to keep going and your beautiful photos uplift me. I look to nature for comfort, as well as to horses. I found a place to live in a place that boards horses! 🙂 If you can find hope and strength and purpose in your grief than I can too and I am grateful you shared your journey! Blessings to you!

Congratulations on the release of your book! I have always dreamed of becoming a writer. I am taking a year off to travel this summer, and plan on trying my hand at creating my own piece of art.
I am grateful for…the ability to be grateful! I suffered for depression for over 7 years, and as many know, it can be challenging to be positive and grateful during those times. Developing a gratitude and mindfulness practice was a major contributor to helping me find the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel.
    Happy Tuesday!

  • Hillary B March 25, 2014, 12:47 pm

I am grateful for growth. I just started jitterbug/swing dance classes with my husband just this month, in spirit of trying one new thing each month this year.

One of the things on our list this year is taking your photography e-course! I’ve had classes high school/college but am rusty and my husband has never taken a formal class. We think it would be a great “growth” experience, fingers crossed we win! Bonus is getting a copy of your work, I’ve been a fan for a long time 🙂

I’m grateful for the new doctor I met this morning, who took the time to talk to me, listen to my questions and laugh at my nervous jokes, even though they were terrible. She made me feel safe and that is a wonderful thing when you aren’t feeling 100%.

  • Heather Varga March 25, 2014, 3:15 pm

I’m grateful for the chance to grow and learn. When I saw that the give away included a class on photography I jumped right in. I am horrible at taking pictures. I feel so bad for the people whose head’s and other body parts I have cut off over the years, the blurry faces and the just strange looking people I have tried to capture. So I’m grateful that I could get better at a skill that I just don’t have naturally.

I’m grateful to have found your blog and book today. Grateful that I still have my sweet husband around, six months after we were told by his doctors that it was unlikely he’d live until christmas. • Linda Levine March 26, 2014, 8:49 am

I am grateful for life, for learning (just a few years ago) that miraculously, I am in charge of living my life. Me! Do you have any idea how exciting that can be? Yes, I imagine most of you can, but it was news to me. I am grateful for the happiness I can CHOOSE. I am grateful for the smile on my face and the joy in my heart. It doesn’t happen naturally, too many years of conditioning, and, through practice, I can turn that around in an instant, so so grateful I stayed in this life to discover happiness is internally created and not dependent on my circumstances!

    • Linda Levine March 26, 2014, 8:50 am

And hey, thanks for asking, was good for me to write this down!

Hello, first time commenter, long time lurker.
I’m grateful for discovering the concept of gratitude, because it orientates me when I need it most. I am grateful for the blue sky and sun shining, because it means I will soon be out and walking on the beach. I am grateful for the way the light is hitting the scrubs outside my window this morning, because it fills me with joy and hope.
    Thank you.

I’m grateful for my family – even when we drive each other bonkers – and for the memories of those that aren’t here anymore. I’m also grateful for the handwritten recipes from my Mum who passed away last year. Her hand writing makes me smile and the familiar food that we cook keeps her close.

  • Syamim Hashim March 27, 2014, 12:29 am
