Today, I recorded a brief audio segment about my involuntary blogging break and my upcoming writing class. Listen in here:

In the audio, I discussed:

  • Why I’m taking a break from blogging for the next week (or two). In short, I hurt my back this weekend and I have to rest.
  • And last but not least, I talked about my summer writing course, Writing in the Digital Age. My writing class is now open for registration and the class begins on Monday, August 5th. Course details can be found here.

    Just read your book “You Can Buy Happiness” and looking up your site. I’m so sorry to hear about your back. I’m experiencing the same trouble now, just moved to Portland, and I know how not fun it is. I hope you get better soon to enjoy the lovely summer (by the way I’ve had great help from physical therapists with my troubles with a herniated disc).

    Back pain is not fun. I started having off-and-on issues in 2008: residual pain from a lower-back injury, the result of a car accident.

    So sorry to hear about your back pain Tammy. In addition to the modalities you’re using I urge you to check out http://www.essentialsomatics.com. My husband does tree work and had a sciatica issue that had him flat on his back for nearly 3 months. He tried chiropractic, massage, osteopathic work and even muscle relaxers. Nothing worked until he tried Hanna Somatics. With a half hour session he was out of pain for a couple hours. Doing the Somatics twice a day he was out of pain for increasing hours every day. He was back to work within 2 weeks and full schedule within 3 weeks. The transformation was dramatic! That was 2 years ago. He spends about 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the evening and has not had one issue since. He’s tried skipping a couple days and his back starts “pinching”. He realizes now this is something he must do daily for his muscles to stay supple and his body flexible. Take good care . . .
