Happy Links: From Gratitude to Grief

by Tammy Strobel on March 22, 2013

{Every week, I publish a series of inspiring links. Enjoy!}

Earlier this week, I decided to give away one spot in my photography e-course, “Everyday Magic!”  I used random.org to choose the winner and the winner is Angela!

“Everyday Magic” is filling up quickly and I hope you’ll join us in April. Sign-up here.

Now onto this week’s happy links . . .

Publicly declared gratitude.

I loved reading the comments on this post! You inspire me.

An amazing conversation: Dr. Brené Brown & Oprah.

We are selling our RV and moving to Portland. Here’s why, and how you can help.

Do we need humans?

I can’t wait to read “Maddie on Things!”

Love this story and the photos! Via “Why We Rescue.”

Walk with me.

Tiny house news.

Speaking up about grief.

What happy links (or books) did you read this week? Share your discoveries in the comments section.

Be well,
Tammy

Hi Tammy, I always appreciate your posts! I lost my mom to cancer around the same time you lost your father. I find your blog comforting dealing with all the emotions that come with such a huge loss. I started reading your blog because I was intrigued by tiny homes and simple living, but it ended helping me more with my grief than anything else. Thank you!

Life is full of ups and downs throughout. Happiness and sorrow is a part of life. So be happy and enjoy life to the fullest.

Early this week I ordered and have received a Dad book: Jared Diamond’s new book on what we can learn from ancient cultures. I call it a Dad book because it is the type I would have sent my Dad RIP who then, a few days after receiving it, would call and “berate” me for making him stay up till 0300 reading the book. I miss him so much – I’ll enjoy this book with him reading over my shoulder…or from wherever in Heaven.

Thank you for the link to the website about grief. I am grateful to still have my parents, but I recently lost a dear 20 year old furry friend and companion — my cat Rebel. Sometimes I feel like I have to apologize for mourning my pet, when other people are mourning fathers and mothers and children — but Rebel was very important in my life. The grief has been deeper and more painful than I imagined. So, thank you. All your links are helpful and thoughtful.

Simm – I’m so sorry about your sweet cat, Rebel. I’m happy that the links were helpful. Again, I’m so sorry for your loss. Sending you hugs.

Hugs,
Tammy
