Everyday Life: The Tiny Tour Continues

by Tammy Strobel on October 15, 2012

{Photography helps me see the world differently and enables me to be less sad about my dad’s death. Since I’ve been taking so many photos, I decided to begin a new series on the blog called  “Everyday Life.” Enjoy!}

Today, I have some fun news to share and a lot of lovely photos too!

Absolutely in love with the church photo. I love churches and old schoolhouses.

You’re the second photographer this week who’s posted a photo of a pink sky. I think your photo would make a lovely ceiling mural for a bedroom, especially mine. ;-)

2 Lauren Giannullo October 15, 2012

Your photos, as always, are beautiful. You capture animals amazingly!

3 ladymac October 15, 2012

These photos brought me a sense of calm, and joy. Thank you for sharing such beauty!

4 Rebecca October 15, 2012

Your photos are beautiful. I especially love the ones with the sky and clouds. The photos of the kitties are those yours? They are very cute and make great little subjects.

I am sorry to hear about your dad. Just remember the good times you had together and hold those close to your heart.

5 Tammy Strobel October 15, 2012

Thank you Rebecca. And yes, the kittens are mine. :)

6 Claire October 15, 2012

Love the tranquillity yet wildness of these scenes – your cat looks so at home!

7 nancy hale October 15, 2012

Love the pictures! So peaceful. How blessed you are to live in such beautiful surroundings!

8 Robin October 15, 2012

Such beautiful blue skies. I bet you are so glad to be out of the gray and rainy northwest.

9 Tammy Strobel October 16, 2012

@Robin – I miss the Northwest. We don’t get much rain here and need it badly. I wish Oregon would send down some of their extra rain. :)

Loneliness is a very important subject. I recommend a recent book by Emily White, titled “Lonely.” She surveys the research that’s been done in an interesting, nontechnical way. Her Web site is http://www.lonelythebook.com

Great photos! I just bought the new Canon Power Shot SX160 and am having a great time with it. I’m heading over to your photo gear link right now to see what you’re using.

11 Tammy Strobel October 16, 2012

Hi John – Thanks for the book recommendation! I’ll buy a copy. Have a great day and have fun with your new camera. :)

12 Sally October 16, 2012

As always, your photos remind me to stop, breathe and appreciate the beauty all around me. In return, could I share with you a beautiful article I just read and couldn’t help but think of you: http://www.positivelypositive.com/2012/10/15/a-manifesto-for-living/

13 Mopsa October 16, 2012

As usual, your pictures are beautiful and convey a lot of tranquility… :)

14 Nicole October 17, 2012

These photos are GORGEOUS! I live in the California and your pictures show how beautiful fall can be here, even if it isn’t like New England with all the changing trees. Thanks for posting them! (I just bought and read your book – love it!)

15 sian October 18, 2012

LOVING this book. So wish your tour included New Orleans!

16 Tammy Strobel October 18, 2012

Thank you!!!!! And me too. I’d love to visit New Orleans. xo.
