Everyday Life: 100 Degrees

by Tammy Strobel on August 4, 2012

{Photography helps me see the world differently and enables me to be less sad about my dad’s death. Since I’ve been taking so many photos, I decided to begin a new series on the blog called  “Everyday Life.” The series showcase’s images from my everyday life. In addition, the series fits in perfectly with The August Break. Enjoy!}

Today, the temperature in Portland was 100 degrees. It was damn hot! So I spent my day fountain hopping, hanging out with my mom, eating good food, and taking photos too. See part of my day in the photos below . . .

What did you do today?

Note: All of the photos were taken with my iPhone.

I too am in Portland…and had the honor of photographing a friend/co-worker’s wedding today…yes…in 100 degrees from 11:00-4:00.
Somehow the pics are awesome and they don’t look like they are melting!? :)

OH MY GOD. I was working today and it was soooooo hot in my shop. I’m currently house-sitting for some friends and the two dogs, cat, and I are all huddled in the bedroom where the air conditioner is! It’s still really hot in here. Bleh! I don’t like these super hot days!

Awesome.

I’m doing the August Break too… and somehow though it’s about photos its doing a lot for my writing as well as my clarity during a transitional time I didn’t plan on. :)

Mahalo for your links that always lead me to some very cool things.

great photos! I really love the soft touches of some of your shots, you capture beauty nicely! You and your Mom are so pretty :0) Happy Summertime!

It’s gotten up to 113 degrees here in Oklahoma! Unfortunately, because of the heat I’m not doing much at all. It’s so incredibly miserable :( I love your iphone photos.

Tammy, I’m so sorry to read about your dad. I haven’t been keeping up with blogs this summer, as I lost my dad too, quite unexpectedly in early June. So when I read this post, my heart sank. I’m going to get a copy of Susannah Conway’s book. Beautiful photos, as always.

I am continually amazed at how youthful and vibrant your mom is! So very pleased you girls are able to share moments of joy, even though you both miss Mahlon very much, still!

I was visiting Portland from DC – it’s such a lovely city – and yes it was ssoo hot! But still cooler than DC. Great photos!
