Inspiring Links: Fun with Photography

by Tammy Strobel on July 20, 2012

{Every week, I publish a small round-up of my favorite articles, books, photos, and other goodies. Enjoy!}

Photography is a creative outlet that lets me see how lucky I am and it’s a great way to practice gratitude too. The new series on my blog, Everyday Life, has pushed me to take more photos and that’s a good thing because I’m spending more time outside taking pictures and writing in my journal too.

On my walks and bike rides around town, I’ve been writing articles in my head for my upcoming writing class and I’ve been tossing around the idea of offering a photography ecourse too.

Since photography has been on my mind, I’ve been searching for inspiring articles on the topic. So this week’s link round-up is all about photography. I hope the articles inspire you to get outside and take photos of your summer adventures . . .

– I bought a new gadget, called an Olloclip. It’s an amazing lens that clips onto my iPhone. Read more about the lens at Macgasm and on As a side note, the photos in this post were taken with my iPhone. I used the Olloclip as my lens.

Thanks for sharing these! I’m really impressed with what the Olloclip can do! It made me think of this book, which you might enjoy, “The Best Camera Is The One That’s With You”:

Happy weekend!

Oh, thank you SO much for the photo post! I keep hearing about the Olloclip but forgetting to google it and see what it was. I can’t believe you took the top photos with your iPhone! They look like they were taken with a much fancier camera! I may have to look into one of those.

If I may ask, what camera do you usually use for your shots?

Hey Brittany – The Olloclip is amazing. Typically, I use my iPhone and Nikon D5000 everyday. I have a 50mm lens for my Nikon and it rocks. I wrote a post about photography a while back. Click here to read it.

Tammy, I MUST tell my iPhone loving daughter-in-law (the mother of my two dear grandchildren) about this Olloclip. The photos you share here are mind-bloggingly magical! Such intimacy with nature you provide us with here! Thank you!

Thanks for the photography tips, particularly using an iPhone. I enjoy using the tools I have to their best ability. In the past you mentioned a program or app that creates picture collages. Do you mind sharing that again? I didn’t take note of it & have been kicking myself. Best wishes to you.
